Born in London, England 1944.
A well-travelled self taught artist, studying perspective, composition and colour on the streets of Europe. With an Impressionist background using the palette knife, I’ve been painting in Australia since 1966 with themes taken from a variety of jobs around Australia like shearing, pubs, flash barmaids, outback stations, stories heard or seen.
This gave me the material to work with that I needed for painting my stories onto canvas.
My stories and Titles come from past experiences that have either happened or coluld have happened. Some imagination or input is needed from the viewer to decide, this might mean the Artists title and the viewers title might be different.

Everyday themes are also used, including modern day beach and bush themes, usually showing the mood by colour.
Favourite spots, bush tracks, going nowhere, pubs and general characters, landscape, seascapes, riverscapes of combinations of places, found on painting trips throughout Australia.

A set of five prints was produced in 1988: Flash Barmaid :There’s a lady in the Bar : Singing on : Living with a Christian Woman : who’s There?….Sold and distributed by print companies to major outlets across Australia and overseas.

Entering many Art Shows like the Camberwell in Sydney many times and to Local Community Shows and wining many prizes and awarded a slot in the Australian Artists Book along with my late Wife Jenny Dawes.

Paintings in Oils, watercolours, acrylic and pastels. Sculpturers in wood, bronze and clay, mainly concentrating on bronze. Previously working for boundary in NSW and now getting own sculptures produced in Victoria from local foundries, works starting at $12,000.

Represented in private and corporate collections in Australia and around the World. Residing in Victoria once again and creating Bronze Sculptures, Landscape Oil Paintings & Watercolours from my home Studio.
